The Very Long Journey...

All packed up and ready to go!
"Ok, mom and dad, we are leaving!  We are gonna pack up our backpacks and go far away because we want to do whatever we want to do!  We don't like all the rules here, so we are going to leave..."

Their little hands got busy collecting all their prized posessions - Legos, Nintendo DS, their icon of Jesus, some veggies from the fridge (good job, boys!),  Demetri's Mickey Mouse blanket, and various stuffed animals...funny what they consider "important" for their long journey.

Demetri on his arduous journey!
So, they put on their shoes, loaded up their packs, and headed off to find their new life.  A parentless life full of freedom and fun!  They had the biggest smiles on their faces, as they asked us what else we thought they might need on their trip.  They assured us that they would miss us, but that this was something they just had to do.  Demetri reported to us that according to the map they drew, they would be traveling Southeast. (Southeast???)  He continued, "That's the way to Bend, right?"  (oh, how I adore them!) We put on our brave faces and told them that we would miss them, too.  We gave them our blessing for their journey and said we hoped they would return to us soon.

After the ceremonial hugs and kisses goodbye, our little men yearning for freedom and independence marched out the back door.  They journey took them all the way around the perimeter of the grass and straight into...our shed!

They spent some time out there discussing their map and unpacking their bags.  We could hear them snacking on the veggies they packed as they began their new life on their own!

A few minutes later, our brave boys come back into the house yelling, "What else can we eat?!  We're hungry!"

A final salute to us before heading into...the shed!
