I have to admit that I have missed blogging! I am back from a fantastic family vacation to Disney World! Courtesy of my parents, this trip to Florida was a Christmas gift to all of us.
THANK YOU, MIMI & PAPA!!!!
We rendezvoused with my parents and my brother's family in Orlando for a week of fun and making memories! It was a whirlwind week full of laughs, wild rides, facing fears, precious family moments, princesses, fireworks, and LOTS and LOTS of Disney characters! Mimi and Papa included a character meal every day that we were there, so we had the opportunity to meet EVERYONE! I think my favorite character meal was the Princess lunch in Cinderella's castle with Isabella, Elizabeth, and Mimi...tiaras and all!
Princess Isabella was my favorite princess! Btw, the guy in the background proposed to his girlfriend during dessert. The ring came to the table in a glass slipper! So romantic...and she said "yes!"
I love this picture of Mom and Dad! Great Smiles!
We were all quite impressed with Mimi and Papa's endurance this week! The temperature hovered 100 degrees almost everyday and the humidity left us all sticky and sweaty. They marched right alongside our happy crew and never complained once! :) I am so grateful to God for their health and vitality! They even rode the "scary" rides...the truth is, I don't think they knew what they were standing in the line for! I think my favorite memory of my dad on this trip was when he finally discovered the secret to a great smile in taking pictures! We'll keep that a family secret...
Another funny memory for me was when William and I noticed a dad sitting with his daughter at a character dinner. He looked checked out! We were laughing so hard about how he needed some magic Disney dust or something. Then I caught THIS picture! His beautiful family was full of Disney magic and who looks checked out now??? Hahahahaha! Where is Tinkerbell when we need her?!
Where is Daddy's Disney smile?!
Argh! I think Papa is a handsome pirate!
Even a Disney rest can be fun!
No, she's not my sister...she's my MOM! :)
A stolen kiss...sorry, Minnie!
Mahalo!!!
Mimi and Lilo are BFF's now!
Noah loves his Isabella...
John conquered Expedition Everest...you had to be there to see what really happened!
I love my sister!
Crazy crew...
Done and DONE!!!
OK, so I've shared some of the magical moments we had together. Believe me...there were a few incredibly UNmagical moments, too! I'm choosing to leave those stories and pictures (I'm keeping my promise, Elizabeth!) out of this blog. But here's the thing about magic...IT WEARS OFF! That's why Tinkerbell has to constantly sprinkle her fairy dust all over the place. As soon as we left the land of magic, the happiest place on earth, the magic left us. Our flight was delayed due to a lightening storm, which caused us to miss our connection. So, after another night away from home, we finally arrived to our beloved Portland (ahh...the cool breezes we missed so much!) The magic continues to dissipate as Noah and I came down with strep throat and ear infections...ugh...Would some Disney character with a wand please show up??? Tinkerbell? ANYONE???
Here's my happily ever after...my prince charming took care of his family and catered to our every need. As I emerged from my semi-comatose state of being sick, I found all of our bags unpacked, the laundry done, and meals prepared. Even now, he is out grocery shopping for us as we recover. I love my Prince Johnny.

Sorry, Mickey, but I think today our home might be the happiest place on earth!
