What a Wonderful World

I've always loved the song by Louis Armstrong, What a Wonderful World.  John doesn't like it when I remind him that I would really love that song to be played at my funeral.  It embodies how I feel about life (on most days!) and I enjoy the positive vibe it carries. :)

Tonight, I experienced this Wonderful World up close and personal.  John cooked a wonderful meal for us and we decided to eat out on the back patio.  It was a really pleasant evening, so we wanted to take the opportunity to enjoy it.  We have a nice little fire pit, so we stoked some logs and enjoyed the warmth.

I was surrounded by the three men I love most in this world and, of course, our two dogs.  A lovely, healthy meal, the smell of campfire, and fun conversation with my family...What a WONDERFUL WORLD!

The smell of the fire and volume of our conversation/laughter even drew out our neighbors and we ended the evening chatting over the fence and getting into a marshmallow fight!  Mary Kay purchased a new marshmallow launcher at the beach and just had to share it with our boys.  So fun!

Father, thank you for our wonderful world you have given us.  Thank you for our families and the joy we can share, especially in the most unplanned moments!  I pray that our eyes and hearts would be open to these opportunities that you provide for us, that the busyness of life doesn't cloud our view of the beautiful gifts to be found in the small moments.  I give you glory, honor, and praise for the blessings we know of and those we don't know of.   My heart's desire is that you would be glorified in all of our moments - as a family, and as individuals.  Take joy, my Lord, in our love for you!  For it is in your Precious Name I pray, Amen.

I hope you enjoy YOUR Wonderful World today!
